Role SummaryCompass Project Consulting is seeking a highly organised and experienced Senior Planning Engineer to support the successful delivery of a large-scale, mixed-use development under a PMC framework. The Planning Engineer will be responsible for project scheduling, progress monitoring, delay analysis, and reporting, ensuring all aspects of the programme are delivered in alignment with client expectations and project timelines.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings technical precision, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of construction programming within the KSA context.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, monitor, and update the master project schedule using Primavera (P6), aligned with the approved baseline and contractual milestones.
- Coordinate with the client, consultants, and contractors to ensure accurate schedule integration across design, procurement, and construction phases.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, highlighting critical activities, delays, and recovery plans.
- Analyse the impact of variations and claims on the project schedule and prepare time impact analysis (TIA) when required.
- Attend weekly progress, coordination, and client meetings, presenting programme updates and risk mitigation strategies.
- Track resource allocation and productivity to forecast potential delays or bottlenecks.
- Assist in tender evaluations by reviewing proposed schedules from contractors and validating alignment with project expectations.
- Support the project controls team with data inputs, dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and project controls protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in construction planning, with at least 2 years in KSA on large-scale building projects.
- Proven experience in mixed-use, high-rise, residential or hospitality developments under a PMC environment.
- Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Excel; experience with Power BI is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequences, and resource planning.
- Familiarity with Dubai authority approval processes (Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data clearly to stakeholders.
- Certification in Planning or Project Controls (e.g., PMI-SP, AACE).
- Experience working for top-tier developers or PMC firms in the UAE.
- Arabic language proficiency is a plus.
