The
Senior Accountant
is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with local regulations (including Zakat and VAT), and supporting financial audits. This role plays a key part in the monthly closing process, budget tracking, and the implementation of accounting best practices. The Senior Accountant ensures the integrity of financial data and supports the Finance Manager in day-to-day accounting operations and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

1. General Accounting:

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in recording financial transactions.

2. Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Support financial analysis, variance reporting, and management reports.

3. Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Participate in the budgeting process and monitor actual performance against budget.
  • Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

4. Compliance & Regulatory Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with
    Saudi Arabian financial regulations
    , including
    Zakat, VAT, and GAZT
    filings.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing required schedules and documentation.

5. Accounts Payable/Receivable & Reconciliation:

  • Monitor and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts regularly.

6. Fixed Assets & Inventory Accounting:

  • Maintain the fixed asset register and handle depreciation entries.
  • Coordinate with other departments on inventory controls and reconciliations.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
    , Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years
    of experience in accounting, preferably in Saudi Arabia.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS
    , Saudi tax laws, Zakat, and VAT compliance.
  • Languages:
    Arabic, English – Fluent
    (both written and spoken).
  • High proficiency in
    Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with CRM and accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Odoo, SAP, Oracle, or similar) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
