Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing month-end closings, preparing financial statements, handling balance sheet reconciliations, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger Accounting:

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications in line with accounting policies.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet and P&L account reconciliations.
  • Maintain the accuracy and intactness of the general ledger accounts, including intercompany and multi-currency transactions.
  • Ensure accurate recording of prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and provisions.

Month-End & Year-End Closing:

  • Lead the month-end closing activities, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments (AP, AR, FP&A) to ensure complete transactions.
  • Support year-end close processes and ensure readiness for the annual audit.

Financial Reporting:

  • Participate in preparing financial statements and internal management reports.
  • Support financial analysis and variance reporting in coordination with FP&A.

Audit & Compliance

  • Liaise with external auditors, providing required documentation and schedules.
  • Ensure adherence to IFRS and company accounting policies.
  • Maintain adequate documentation for all transactions and approvals for audit readiness.

Tax & VAT Support

  • Assist in VAT reconciliation and reporting.
  • Support preparation of tax schedules and filings in coordination with the tax team.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:
Bachelor's / master's degree in accounting, Finance. (CA /CMA / ACCA will be preferred).

Experience:
Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and financial reporting under full IFRS.

Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of IFRS, hands-on ERP experience (preferably Dynamics 365), proficiency in Excel.

Soft Skills:
High attention to detail, analytical thinking, time management, communication, and problem-solving.

Language:
Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus).
