Solution Design Specialist (Warehouse & Contract Logistics)

About the Role

We are looking for a Solution Design Specialist with strong experience in warehouse layout design, contract logistics, and 3PL/4PL solution development.

This role will support the creation of operationally sound, cost-effective logistics solutions for new bids, renewals, and customer requirements.

If you have a background in warehousing, industrial engineering, supply chain engineering, or logistics solution design, this is the ideal opportunity.

Key Responsibilities


• Design warehouse layouts, material flow plans, and storage concepts using AutoCAD / 2D tools.


• Analyse customer requirements, bid documents, and operational challenges to create fit-for-purpose solutions.


• Develop cost models, labour plans, resource calculations, and operational assumptions.


• Prepare solution design documentation, presentations, and commercial inputs for RFP/RFQ responses.


• Support sales, operations, and implementation teams in validating and refining solution designs.


• Conduct data analysis using Excel, Power BI, Power Query to evaluate volumes, throughput, labour needs, and productivity.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, continuous improvement, and finance.


• Apply global tools, standards, and modelling guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.


• Provide post-design support during customer implementation and solution transition.

Required Qualifications & Experience


• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, or a related field.


• 5–7 years' experience in solution design, 3PL/4PL engineering, warehouse design, or contract logistics.


• Proven experience designing:


• Warehouse layouts


• Material flow


• Storage systems (MHE, racking, automation awareness)


• Labour/resource models


• Strong knowledge of contract logistics, warehouse operations, and value-added services (VAS).


• Hands-on proficiency in:


• AutoCAD (2D layouts)


• Excel (Formulas, Pivot Tables, Modelling)


• Power BI / Power Query


• Experience supporting RFQ/RFP tender responses.


• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

Preferred Skills


• Experience in 3PL solutioning within:


• Contract logistics


• E-commerce fulfilment


• Distribution centres


• Familiarity with automation concepts, warehouse simulation tools, and global best practices.


• Ability to work cross-functionally and lead solution acceptance workshops.


• Knowledge of CLASS or other simulation tools (advantage).
