Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Control

  • Oversee manufacturing processes for aluminum frames, glass cutting, tempering, laminating, and assembly.
  • Ensure on-time delivery while maintaining quality (e.g., tolerances, finishes, structural integrity).
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and sales teams to align production with demand.

Lean Manufacturing Implementation

  • Apply Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban) to eliminate waste (muda) in:
  • Material handling (glass/aluminum scrap reduction).
  • Machine downtime (SMED for faster changeovers in glass tempering/aluminum extrusion).
  • Inventory management (JIT for costly materials like coated glass or specialized alloys).
  • Lead continuous improvement (Kaizen) workshops with cross-functional teams.

Quality & Safety Compliance

  • Enforce standards (e.g., ASTM for glass, EN standards for aluminum).
  • Root-cause analysis (e.g., defects in anodizing/glass insulation) using PDCA or Six Sigma tools.
  • Maintain OSHA-compliant safety protocols (e.g., handling glass shards, aluminum dust).

Cost & Resource Optimization

  • Reduce energy consumption (e.g., in glass furnaces or aluminum extrusion presses).
  • Negotiate with suppliers for raw materials (silicon, float glass, aluminum billets).
  • Track KPIs (OEE, scrap rate, throughput) using Lean dashboards.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Train staff in Lean methodologies (e.g., standard work for glass cutting/seaming).
  • Foster a culture of problem-solving (e.g., Poka-Yoke to prevent misaligned glazing).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial engineering or relative field
  • Knowledge of glass/aluminum fabrication tech (e.g., tempering, thermal break systems)
  • Strong analytical skills (e.g., Pareto analysis for defect prioritization).
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt/Black Belt).
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
