Position Overview:

We are seeking a Cost Control Engineer to join our Commercial Department and ensure robust financial governance across ongoing projects. The role focuses on cost tracking, budget monitoring, variance analysis, and forecasting to support informed decision-making and profitability control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with project-based cost, commercial, and QS teams, as well as internal departments such as Finance and Accounting.
  • Monitor actual costs and expenditures against approved budgets and cost baselines.
  • Ensure that all commercial activities—subcontracts, purchase orders, and change requests—are executed within approved financial limits.
  • Review and validate cost revision and reforecasting requests from project managers.
  • Prepare and maintain cost control reports, including variance analyses, cost-to-complete forecasts, and budget utilization summaries.
  • Contribute to monthly commercial reviews by providing accurate and timely data.
  • Report directly to the Regional Commercial Director.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in cost control or project controls within the construction or MEP sector.
  • Strong understanding of cost breakdown structures (CBS), cost coding, and budget management principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with cost management or ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and reporting skills with attention to accuracy and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • GCC Project Experience: Prior cost control experience in Saudi Arabia or other GCC countries with exposure to multi-project environments.
  • Earned Value Management (EVM): Familiarity with EVM principles and application in project performance tracking.
  • Advanced Reporting Tools: Experience preparing cost dashboards or automated reports using Power BI or advanced Excel modeling.
  • Commercial Acumen: Ability to link technical cost data with contractual and financial implications to support management decisions.
