Job Brief

The Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) is seeking an experienced and visionary Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Deputy CEO) to support the continued establishment, growth, and operational excellence of our Saudi Arabia branch. The Deputy CEO will work closely with the CEO to lead strategic initiatives, reinforce governance, and develop high-impact corporate banking and operational capabilities.

This role is pivotal in strengthening core banking operations, corporate and commercial lending, project finance, Export Credit Agencies (ECAs), cross-border trade business, and technology transformation. The Deputy CEO will actively drive risk management, regulatory alignment, and executive decision-making, ensuring seamless delivery of banking services in line with SAMA requirements and the bank's strategic objectives.

This is a unique opportunity for a senior banking leader to contribute to one of the most important cross-border banking initiatives in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, execution, and supervision of strategic initiatives to grow TBI KSA's business in line with TBI Group objectives and Vision 2030.
  • Work with senior management to optimize liquidity, asset quality, pricing, and risk diversification.
  • Ensure full compliance with Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) regulations, regulatory reporting standards, risk frameworks, and governance models.
  • Enhance operational controls, compliance, and performance metrics (KPIs), identifying areas for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee stakeholder engagement with regulators, financial institutions, ECAs, correspondent banks, and government entities.
  • Support leadership in organizational capacity building, succession planning, and the professional development of branch talent.
  • Act as Deputy Executive Authority in the CEO's absence, facilitating continuity of operations and decision-making.

Applicant Requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or professional certifications (CFA, CMA, etc.) is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 10+ years of senior-level experience in corporate or commercial banking, preferably within KSA market.
  • Proven track record in:
  • Corporate lending and structured/project finance
  • Trade finance and cross-border facilities
  • ECAs and export credit programs
  • Bank operations and business management
  • AML & Compliance
  • Treasury products including the capital market

Skills

  • Strong understanding of SAMA regulations, risk governance, and local banking practices.
  • Comprehensive exposure to AML/KYC, credit policy frameworks, and financial risk management.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to manage executive-level stakeholders.
  • Excellent strategic communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills in English and Arabic.
  • Visionary approach with strong business acumen and hands-on execution abilities.
