Redstone Commodity Search is working with a global metals trading house seeking to hire a Steel Trading Manager to establish and lead their new steel trading desk in Saudi Arabia. This is a pivotal role for an experienced professional to build out trading flows and drive commercial growth in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead a new steel trading desk in Saudi Arabia with full responsibility for commercial strategy, P&L, and business development.
  • Originate and execute physical steel trades across flat and long products, billets, coils, and semi-finished products.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with mills, distributors, service centres, and end users across the Middle East and international markets.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, expanding trading flows and market presence for the firm.
  • Work closely with operations, logistics, finance, and risk teams to ensure efficient trade execution and regulatory compliance.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in physical steel trading with a strong track record of profitability.
  • Proven ability to originate and manage trading flows with an established network across producers, consumers, and distributors in the steel industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in setting up or expanding a trading desk is highly desirable.
  • Deep knowledge of steel supply chains, pricing structures, and global/regional market dynamics.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and entrepreneurial skills, with the ability to operate independently in a high-growth environment
