At AlixPartners, we solve the most complex and critical challenges by moving quickly from analysis to action when it really matters; creating value that has a lasting impact on companies, their people, and the communities they serve. By understanding, respecting, and honouring the needs of our employees, clients, and communities, AlixPartners actively promotes an inclusive environment. We strongly believe in the value that diversity brings to our experiences and are committed to the perpetual enhancements of initiatives, policies, and practices. We hold ourselves accountable by providing the space for authenticity, growth, and equity for everyone.
AlixPartners has embraced a hybrid work model to provide flexibility and support our employees' work-life integration. However, we would prefer this individual to be on site as much as possible, to support the analysts on the Business Analyst program.
What You'll Do
The Middle East Researcher and Business Analyst Manager role has two fundamental pillars to it:
The first pillar involves working closely with the BIC Business Analyst Director, to lead the Middle East "track" of the Business Analyst (BA) Program. This will leverage the infrastructure of the EMEA Business Analyst Program – namely structure, training and competency measurement. You will directly manage the Analysts in the Middle East (currently four).
The second pillar of the role is a core Business Intelligence Centre (BIC) researcher role: delivering critical research, facilitating business development, and providing proactive intelligence to support company-wide initiatives.
Business Analyst Programme
- Lead and Manage Business Analyst Team: Oversee the onboarding, development, and day-to-day management of a cohort of four Business Analysts (BAs) based in Riyadh, ensuring their successful integration into the team and alignment with AlixPartners' values and standards
- Best practices: Collaborate with the BA Director and other EMEA BA Managers to adapt and implement best practices from the BA Program into the Middle East. Drive relationship building with the London BA team to understand the 'on the job' success factors for the role
- Career Growth and Management: Supervise the delivery and continuous improvement of the Business Analyst training programs specific to the Middle East track, ensuring content relevance and effective learning outcomes. Regularly track and report on the progress of each analyst's training and professional development, identifying areas for further growth and support
- Performance Management: Conduct frequent one-on-one meetings with BAs to review performance, identify and address challenges, and provide constructive feedback and coaching. Actively mentor analysts, helping them identify and pursue opportunities for skill enhancement and career advancement, tailored to both their interests and business needs
- Stakeholder Management: Systematically gather and synthesize feedback from project teams and clients throughout the year, with particular focus following major project milestones or new client assignments
- Staffing and Resource Planning: In alignment with ME staffing teams, oversee the staffing of BAs on client engagements, ensuring optimal alignment between analysts' capabilities, career aspirations, and project requirements. Respond promptly to all BA staffing requests, balancing team needs with individual development goals
- Readiness Assessment: Evaluate and determine when analysts are prepared for internal transfers or new responsibilities, supporting their progression within the firm. Drive the necessary discussions within the BIC team, and build the required materials to drive seamless integration and messaging
- Recruitment: Support with the recruitment of future analysts for the program, in line with business needs
Industry Research
Your research role will be focused on macro (industry) and micro (company) level market intelligence, market analysis, financial analysis, and supporting our consulting teams with business development.
- Perform independent, creative research and market analysis, using internal and external sources to process pitch-critical company information and elaborate findings for Middle East (ME) region
- Support or drive research & analysis to support non-company specific business development, engagements, and marketing campaigns
- Identify new business opportunities using a broad range of research tools and a consideration of changing business, technology, economic, legal, and industry dynamics
- Provide RFP and pitch support, including above mentioned research, competitive positioning, and tailored insights to strengthen proposal responses
- Deliver market dynamics and competitive intelligence for the ME region, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities relevant to strategic decision-making
- Assist with key fund account management, offering research and analysis to support relationship development, portfolio reviews, and strategic planning
- Maintain responsibility for a bank of business development key materials
