Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all surveying and setting-out works to ensure accuracy in line, level, and dimension across all airport facilities (runways, taxiways, terminal buildings, utilities, roads, and ancillary works).
  • Review and validate contractors' survey methodology, equipment calibration, and accuracy of results.
  • Monitor contractor's surveying staff and ensure proper execution of benchmarks, gridlines, and control points.
  • Verify horizontal and vertical alignments, elevations, and tolerances as per project drawings and technical specifications.
  • Conduct independent spot checks to confirm accuracy of contractor's work.
  • Supervise preparation of as-built drawings and verify their accuracy before submission to the client.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues and discrepancies related to survey data on-site.
  • Coordinate with the Design Review team to resolve drawing ambiguities through site-based survey verification.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with international airport construction standards and authority requirements (e.g., ICAO, FAA, GACA, or local standards).
  • Provide technical input to variation orders, claims, and contractual disputes by validating site measurements.
  • Ensure all survey works are carried out in compliance with HSE regulations, project quality standards, and supervision procedures.
  • Support project close-out activities, including handover documentation and final survey records.
  • Mentor, train, and supervise junior surveyors and ensure effective knowledge transfer within the team.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in airport projects or other large-scale infrastructure works.
  • Strong knowledge of surveying equipment (Total Station, GPS, Digital Levels, 3D Scanning).
  • Experience in supervising contractors within a consultancy/supervision scope.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and survey software.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Strong understanding of airport construction standards and specifications.
