Main Activities:

We are currently recruiting a
Chief Accountant - Arabic Speaking with
a
minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry
.

The Chief Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations at
IMAR Overseas KSA
, ensuring the accuracy of accounting records, compliance with applicable standards and regulations, and the integrity of internal accounting processes.

This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to high-quality reporting and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting Operations & Reporting

  • Supervise daily accounting activities including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, payroll accounting, and fixed asset management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Review and approve journal entries and ensure all reconciliations are properly performed and documented.
  • Maintain up-to-date and compliant accounting records in alignment with
    International Accounting Standards (IAS)
    and company policies.
  • Prepare and validate internal reports and ensure alignment with external audit requirements.

2. Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations, tax laws, and labor requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
  • Regularly assess and improve accounting processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and control.
  • Support external audits by preparing required documentation and addressing any audit findings or recommendations.

3. ERP & System Oversight

  • Ensure accurate data entry and proper use of ERP systems across all accounting functions.
  • Lead the implementation of system improvements and upgrades in coordination with the IT and operational teams.
  • Provide training and support to accounting staff on ERP usage and compliance.

4. Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring clear responsibilities, performance standards, and continuous professional development.
  • Coordinate with HR for payroll-related accounting and employee cost allocation.
  • Collaborate with project teams and departments to ensure alignment on accounting procedures and project cost tracking.
  • Act as the point of contact for accounting-related inquiries and provide guidance on accounting policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Arabic Speaking
  • Minimum
    15 years
    of progressive experience in accounting, with at least
    10 years in a supervisory or managerial role
    , ideally in the
    construction industry
    .
  • Solid knowledge of
    International Accounting Standards (IAS/IFRS)
    and local compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in managing accounting teams and complex organizational structures.
  • Strong command of
    ERP systems
    and
    Microsoft Excel
    .
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of working under pressure and tight deadlines.
