SAK is looking for a smart Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager with a proven track record of successfully delivering high profile, high value and mission critical major projects. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Client/ Company policies. This role is critical in ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel involved in the construction project.
Key duties include leading and managing a team of Health & Safety officers; conducting risk assessments and site walkthroughs with the PMC & Client, developing and delivering safety training, investigating incidents, ensuring compliance with all regulations, preparing necessary HSE reports & PMIS and maintaining detailed records.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HSE policies:
Create and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures for all construction sites. - Conduct risk assessments:
Identify potential hazards and assess risks on-site to develop mitigation strategies. - Perform site inspections:
Regularly inspect job sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols. - Provide training:
Conduct and coordinate health and safety training for all staff and contractors on topics such as safety practices, emergency procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment. - Manage incidents:
Investigate accidents and near-misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. - Ensure regulatory compliance:
Stay up-to-date with and ensure all activities comply with local, national, and industry-specific health and safety laws and standards. - Maintain records and reports:
Keep accurate records of safety performance, incidents, training, and inspections. - Collaborate and communicate:
Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, client/PMC, and other stakeholders on HSE matters. - Supports the Top Management in the HSE Policy and Guidelines issue.
- Supports the Top Management in the Organization roles and responsibilities definition, for what concerns safety aspects.
- Supports the Top Management in the HSE Management System standard issue.
- Ensures, in accordance with the Client/ Company guidelines, the implementation, updating, review and auditing of the HSE Systems.
- Monitor the effective implementation of appropriate Safety and Environment System procedures and provide for their updating in line with changes in Legislation and Client Directive
- Conducts safety audits both internal and external.
- Carries out analysis of accident / incident statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans.
- Provides technical support to Senior Management on any safety related subjects.
- Liaises between Client/PMC on safety related issues.
- Guide and mentor a team of Health & Safety Officers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Conduct regular reviews and provide constructive feedback to drive team development and alignment with project goals
Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in HSE and Fire & Safety Management Systems - Certifications:
NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) is required, with a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent preferred. - Experience:
Minimum of 12 years of safety experience specific to the construction industry is usually necessary. - Proven track record of successful mission critical facility project delivery.
- Good knowledge of English
