Position Summary:


Jubail is one of Bechtel's most remarkable achievements—a city built from the sand up, requiring vast resources and logístical planning on an unprecedented scale.

It the biggest civil engineering project in modern times—and it's getting bigger.

Bechtel has managed the Jubail project, located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, since it began in the mid-1970s.

Bechtel serves as the Management Services Contractor (MSC), or "owner's representative" for our client, the Royal Commission (RC).

We are the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) managers, managing design submissions from local AE firms, and overseeing the actual construction work being performed by local contractors and sub-contractors in Jubail and Ras-Al-Khair Industrial Cities.

In June 2021, Bechtel's contract with the Royal Commission was renewed for another 5 years with work focusing on building new residential communities, iconic buildings/ bridges, major site preparation, commercial buildings, mosques, schools, hospitals, sports facilities, clinics, universities, utility services and infrastructure (electrical sub-stations, lift stations), roads and highways, port & pipeline expansions, and more.

This work location for this position is in Ras-Al-Khair which is located about 90 KMS north of Jubail Industrial City. You will be required to commute Jubail - Ras-Al-Khair - Jubail daily using the available transportation facility /shuttle bus service. The accommodation will be provided at Jubail Industrial City.

Major Responsibilities:


The Senior Field Civil Engineer is the front end of Bechtel's operations in Ras-Al-Khair Industrial City, responsible for overseeing multiple contractors to construct, test and commission all large scale highways, roadworks, industrial projects and other whilst maintaining a positive health and safety working environment with the site team and proactively eliminating rework through an effective quality control program.


The Senior Field Civil Engineer reviews and approves all quality assurance and health and safety documentation and is then responsible for working with the contractor to implement these practices on the construction site.

The Senior Field Civil Engineer will be capable of independently working with the contractor whilst representing the client on site, he shall be competent to read, analyze and advise on interpreting design drawings and specifications and proactively identify conflicts between the disciplines.


The Senior Field Civil Engineer shall have experience in the design and construction of highways and bridges including earthworks, drainage, asphalt and reinforced concrete structures.


JOB DIMENSIONS:

A Supervision Received

  • Receives direction from the Resident and Assistant resident Engineer
  • Receives technical direction from the Project Field Engineer.

B. Supervision Exercised

  • Shall take responsibility for all site related activities including Health, Safety and Quality.

C. Contacts
Works closely in a multi-disciplined team of field engineers and safety engineers to:

  • Oversee multiple utility construction projects.
  • Maintain a zero accident policy on site.
  • Proactively implement a zero rework culture within the project team through careful coordination with other disciplines.
  • Is the primary contact on site for the clients team.
  • Arrange with all stakeholders to help the contractors negotiate traffic detour plans and road closures as an when required.
