Job Duties / Responsibilities SR. Speciality Nurse-PICC
- A nurse places a PICC line into a large vein in your arm and guides the catheter up into the main vein near your heart where blood flows quickly.
- Responsible for providing direct care to people with abdominal stomach, wounds, fistulas, drains, pressure injuries, and/or continence disorders.
- The nurse sutures (stitches) the PICC line in place and covers the site with a sterile bandage. An Xray is done to make sure that the catheter is in the right place.
- Monitors all patient care and treatment, maintaining high standards and quality at all times. escalate to the site team/clinician immediately.
- A PICC Nurse will also perform ongoing data monitoring of the patientmonitoring the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the catheter placement. Any postcare management will be under your jurisdiction as well.
- Maintains accurate, contemporaneous, and legible written records of care.
- Work with Labor, Operations, and Health and Safety management to evaluate and maintain TAW appropriate job assignments.
- Initiates nursing care plans on all students identified with a chronic disease or disorder.
- Tracks and supports patients when they obtain services outside the practice.
- Obtains test and referral results and communicates with community organisation, health plans, facilities, and specialists.
- Facilitate discharge planning when necessary.
- Document all findings and member related communications in database.
- Provide professional advice and guidance on Wound Healing clinical and research processes and procedures to internal and external customers that will have institute wide impacts, using judgement and creativity to suggest the most appropriate course of action where appropriate, and ensuring complex and conceptual issues are understood.
Education / Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing OR Associate degree/Diploma or country equivalent + Bachelor's in Nursing related field
- An undergraduate degree in nursing and an RN are required for a PICC position. You will also need to obtain a PICC certification to work as a PICC Nurse
2.Job Responsibility for Advanced Specialist Research
- Provides advanced (senior level) medical research and analysis work.
- Work involves conducting research and planning, conducting, and reporting on medical research projects.
- May supervise the work of others. Works under mínimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
- Conducts and plans medical research projects and studies and determines methods and designs to be used for research and experiments.
- Reviews technical medical research literature, interprets and analyzes findings, and reports results.
- Researches and analyzes data associated with cuttingedge concepts, new initiatives, and innovative programs to determine their feasibility and applicability.
- Synthesizes data and information to ensure that systems, processes, and models developed are internally consistent and achieve the intended results.
- Develops and implements new policies, programs, and practices.
- Establishes joint research initiatives with medical schools, universities, and research centers.
- Follows strict safety procedures when handling materials to avoid contamination.
- May plan and manage budgets for various medical research projects.
- May publish reports or present information, research, and findings to committees, departments, and the public.
- May supervise the work of others.
- Performs related work as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Experience in medical research work.
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a master's degree in science or a related field is generally preferred.
Knowledge of medical research design, methods, principles, and techniques.
Skill in the use of statistical measurement techniques, in research design and implementation, in problem-solving methods and techniques, and in the use of a computer and applicable software.
Ability to work with abstract data, concepts, and requests; to prepare clear and concise reports; to communicate effectively; and to supervise the work of others.
