Role Purpose:


The Logistics Manager role is overseeing the entire logistics process, improving supply chain efficiency, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.

They lead, oversee, and coordinate activities related to logistics, warehouse management, transportation, and customer service. Additionally, they take charge of strategic planning for logistics and customer services.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency.
  • Establish or monitor specific supply chainbased performance measurement systems.
  • Create policies or procedures for logistics activities.
  • Plan or implement material flow management systems to meet production requirements.
  • Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, or training or safety records.
  • Implement specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics.
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
  • Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, or performance evaluation.
  • Develop and implement effective logistics strategies to optimize supply chain operations.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business goals and align logistics activities accordingly.
  • Analyze data and market trends to make informed decisions for logistics planning.
  • Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.
  • Direct distribution center operation to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy, or timeliness objectives.
  • Negotiate transportation rates or services.
  • Design models for use in evaluating logistics programs or services.
  • Negotiate with suppliers or customers to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainability.
  • Recommend the purchase of new or improved technology, such as automated systems.
  • Develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios.
  • Plan or implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.
  • Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.
  • Direct inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, or logistics quality management.
  • Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most costeffective or efficient means of transporting products or supplies.
  • Direct or coordinate comprehensive logístical or reverse logístical functions for product life cycles, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, recycling, reuse, or final disposal of resources.
  • Possess indepth knowledge of the SABER system, ensuring compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations and standards.
  • Stay updated on changes to the SABER system and proactively implement necessary adjustments in logistics operations.
  • Communicate freight transportation information to customers or suppliers, using transportation management, electronic logistics marketplace, or electronic freight information systems, to improve efficiency, speed, or quality of transportation services.
  • Review global, national, or regional transportation or logistics reports for ways to improve efficiency or minimize the environmental impact of logistics activities.
  • Conduct or review environmental audits for logistics activities, such as storage, distribution, or transportation.
  • Manage relationships with thirdparty logistics providers (3PLs) to ensure seamless coordination of transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities.
  • Negotiate and review contracts with 3PLs to optimize cost and service levels.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of 3PL partners against established KPIs.

Qualifications, Experience, and Knowledge:

  • Excellent analytical, problemsolving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to think independently and handle multiple projects through to completion.
  • Demonstrated independent work initiative, sound judgment, diplomacy, analytical ability, and professional demeanor.
  • Able to perform financial calculations and create and manage budgets.
  • 5+ years in customer service and logistics environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Indepth knowledge of the SABER system and its integration into logistics processes.
  • Familiarity with 3PL operations and management.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Leadership experience with a focus on team development.
