An organization in the shipping industry is seeking a strategic and visionary leader to lead the growth and expansion of the business.
Your role:
The shipping industry has faced global economic uncertainty, increasing environmental regulations and the ever-present cyclical wave of capacity and demand.
You have been there, done that and done it successfullythen read onResponsibilities:
Develop and execute a strategic plan that aligns with the company's mission, vision, and values.
Oversee day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring that all processes and procedures are followed and that the company is meeting its financial and operational goals
Lead the development of a high-performance culture that attracts, retains, and motivates top talent.
Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and industry partners.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Manage risk and make informed decisions that promote the long-term success of the company
Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction, ensuring that the company is meeting or exceeding customer expectations
Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including the board of directors, shareholders, and employees.
The position reports to the Board.
Must-Have:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration, logistics, or a related field
Minimum of 18 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in the shipping or logistics industry. Proven track record of driving growth and achieving operational excellence.
Knowledge of the industry:
A strong understanding of the shipping industry, including international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and industry trends, is required. The CEO should know the latest technology, practices, and market changes. Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial statements.
Leadership skills:
The CEO should possess exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. The CEO should be able to create a high-performance culture that attracts, retains, and motivates top talent.
