KEY ACOUNTABILITIES:

  • Drive clear discussions with internal stakeholders and Analytical Science colleagues on translating business needs into analytical solutions related to especially molecular characterization of polyolefin. Act as a focal point when required, to help facilitate solutionfinding on behalf of the business research teams.
  • Collaborate strongly with other molecular characterization experts in order to help elevate SABIC's global expertise
Participate in cross-functional and global safety, CAPEX Planning, quality improvement and knowledge exchange programs.

Problem solving/Decision making:

  • Manage resources and prioritize tasks, effectively communicate with stakeholders to understand their needs and assess the level of importance and urgency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in material science, chemistry or other related fields with 10+ years' experience in the field of polyolefin characterization.

Minimum Experience:

  • Expertise and detailed understanding of HT-SEC applied to polyolefin with RI, IR, DV and MALS and combinations of these detectors
  • Previous experience with polyolefin fractionation techniques such as CEF, PREP mc2.

Job Specific Skills:

  • Previous experience with polyolefin fractionation techniques such as CEF and PREP mc
  • Broad knowledge of analytical techniques in the areas of chromatography and spectroscopy, especially for the characterization of petrochemical products.
  • Handson mindset with flexibility, creativity and independence.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel or MATLAB enabling development of automated tools (e.g. macros) for data processing and visualization of analytical results.
  • Knowledge of statistical data analysis, design of experiments. Experience with statistics software (such as for instance Minitab or JMP).
  • Adherence to and promotion of good safety practices in the workplace and commitment on Environment Health and Safety (EHS) compliances
  • Excellent English spoken and written language skills

Competencies:

  • Ability to drive clear discussions with internal stakeholders and Analytical Science colleagues on translating business needs into analytical solutions related to especially molecular characterization of polyolefin. Act as a focal point when required, to help facilitate solutionfinding on behalf of the business research teams
  • Collaborate strongly with other molecular characterization experts in order to help elevate SABIC's global expertise
  • Technical documentation
- experience preparing high-quality technical reports and documents and in preparing and delivering technical presentations.
  • Participation in peer scientific interactions both internally and externally to build scientific temperament and build the right image and branding for SABIC in external forum.
