What You'll Do


The primary responsibility is to build the knowledge, capability and repository of consumer, HCP and market insights with a combination of primary research, desk research and secondary analysis that would guide both strategic and tactical decisions.

This role will focus on the infant/pediatric nutrition and in particular on Similac and Pediasure brands.

The incumbent will closely work with external vendors like TNS, Nielsen and Euro-monitor and with analytics suppliers to enable KSA regional leadership to make more knowledge based strategic and tactical decisions to accelerate growth.

It is expected that this position continues to cover key market country insight responsibilities (e.g. Saudi Arabia). Approximately 50% of time to be allocated to area responsibility and 50% on country specific responsibility. Job to be located in key market with travelling of up to 20% of time for area responsibility.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Guide strategy development in KSA by capturing the knowledge around key vectors country, consumer, HCP, category, competition and market. This knowledge would go beyond just providing data but focus on the "why" behind the data with clear databased analytics, models and desk research.
  • Create a scalable and best in class communication effectiveness measurement and brand tracking system for key markets that leverages vendor capability at area/ affiliate level and also help compares KPIs around consumer & HCP metrics like market share, penetration of our brands, purchase funnel insights, retail execution metrics, HCP tracking, etc.
  • Develop base brand messaging & innovation pipeline that is consistent with global brand strategy and factors in local/ regional consumer insights and market dynamics: Adapt the Global consumer segmentation & architecture for Pediatric nutrition working closely with Marketing and R&D. Develop insights and testing methods that lead to strong base brand messaging in key markets.
  • Identify key growth opportunities and marketing spending effectiveness opportunities in focus markets e.g. distribution growth, channel strategies, trial building plans, HCP advocacy strategies, etc.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with vendors ( Nielsen, Euromonitor, etc) to fully leverage their capabilities, driving effectiveness and efficiency of research investment

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience in FMCG marketing / insights/management consulting /research agency.
  • Working knowledge of primary research tools and analysis methods.
  • Proven track record in capability building / establishing new systems in the field of consumer insights or market analytics
  • Experience in KSA Markets
  • Deep understanding of at least one key market in the regions, e.g. Arabian Peninsula, Russia, Israel etc.
  • Managing vendor partnerships & insight budgets independently.
  • Hands on experience in syndicated data ( e.g., Nielsen, Kantar panels, Euromonitor, etc).
  • The role is country based (e.g. Russia, Saudi Arabia or Gulf) and would require travel across KSA (about 20% travel).
  • Ability to manage remote direct reporting relationship
  • Ideally, some experience in coaching / talent management.
