Role Overview

The role is part of NMG Benefits' sales and business development department and integrates across the retirement, investments, and healthcare business lines. The purpose of this role is to increase NMG's market share and revenue by identifying, targeting and securing new corporate and individual clients for NMG. It is responsible for developing and deepening relationships with employers and funds, developing the right strategies to effectively attract new business across service lines.

Duties & Responsibilities

Sales Pipeline Management:

  • Bringing new corporate clients into the NMG client space.
  • Coordinating up-sell and cross-sell opportunities amongst NMG existing clients.
  • The focus will be on Business-to-Business relationships and 3rd party distribution.
  • Build, manage, and convert the sales pipeline.
  • Source leads.
  • Data analysis to inform and enhance the sales pipeline.

New Business Coordination:

  • Ensure proposals comply with client specifications, are tailored to client needs, and accurately reflect NMG's offerings.
  • Log, accurately complete, and submit new business tenders and proposals in a timely manner.

Partnership and Relationship Management:

  • Create strategic business partnerships with multiple intermediary stakeholders.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure a smooth handover of new clients to the servicing team.
  • Market Awareness and Compliance:

Keeping up to date with competitor product and service offerings and industry developments.

  • Participate in proactive sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Keep records of communication and interactions with prospects in accordance with FAIS.
  • Compliance with the NMG Style Guide and internal processes.
  • Keep abreast of legislative, industry, medical scheme updates, and changes.

Qualification and experience

  • Degree or 3-year business qualification.
  • Will need to meet the requirements as set out by FAIS.
  • 3+ years of financial services senior experience, preferably in distribution or sales environment.
  • Track record of distribution and sales success within an Employee Benefits industry.
  • Credible and capable of operating at senior management levels /contexts.
  • Own vehicle and driver's license.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
