Senior Manager Solutions Architect, Public Sector Mexico

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for experienced and motivated technical managers to coach, grow, and partner with technically skilled, customer-facing Solutions Architects. You will help develop the industry's best cloud-based solutions architects by enabling and coaching them on best practices, solution selling, presentation and speaking skills, as well as how to create and present architectures of widely varying size and complexity. In collaboration with the Demand Generation Sales Team, you will be assisting their efforts of prospecting for new business and acquiring a broad set of new customers in a diverse customer base. This role will be responsible for a team of early-in-career Solutions Architects and Specialists (AI/ML, DevOps, Security, Big Data, etc.) who will need to learn the breadth of the AWS platform quickly and each develop depth in one or more area. As their leader you must be passionate about developing these professionals and working to advance them into more senior and complex roles. This role focuses on targeted technical marketing campaigns, solution demos, virtual conference speaking engagements, and more.

Travel: Up to 20% travel is required for the role.

Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Develop a deep understanding of customers, products and the buyer's journey.
  2. Work closely with other departments to build cross-functional cohesion.
  3. Collaborate with sales and marketing to build programs that support sales enablement.
  4. Hire, on-board, train, and develop new Solutions Architects from internal and external sources.
  5. Educate enterprise customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
  6. Coach Solutions Architects in the skills needed to conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions so they can transfer deep technical skills to customers who are considering or using AWS.
  7. Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community.
  8. Guide and motivate the development of whitepapers, data sheets, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices.
  9. Must be passionate about developing early-in-career talent.
A Day in the Life

You present AWS Value proposition to both open and closed audiences in a compelling way that clearly transmits relevant information and reference cases that attract attention and creates intention and business opportunities. You work side by side with the account team to understand prospects' and customer's needs or business strategy to shape technical solutions based on AWS Services that address all the stakeholders' concerns based on the best practices. You have fun by thinking big on behalf of your customers and invent compelling solutions that impact the world's best interests.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 7+ years of experience leading and growing teams of senior technology professionals.
  2. 5+ years' experience design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed Applications.
  3. High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations, with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  4. Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
  5. Ability to speak in public and in front of an audience is a big plus.
  6. Technical degree required (or equivalent work experience); Computer Science background highly desired.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
  2. Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
  3. Experience with analytics and big data related technologies.
  4. History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements mid-sized, large customers or startups.
  5. Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
  6. Familiarity with common open-source technologies (Tomcat, Hadoop, Nginx, Docker, Git, etc.), products (i.e., MongoDB, Redis, Jenkins, etc.) and design approach (Serverless, microservices, decoupled, etc.).
  7. High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations.
  8. Measure, analyze, and report campaign performance.
  9. Professional experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS.
  10. Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role.
  11. Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.
