Senior Credit Analyst

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of credit risk assessment, financial analysis, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, and possesses a keen ability to evaluate complex financial data. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, contributing to credit and investment strategies while ensuring sound risk management practices.

Role & Responsibilities
  1. Credit Risk Assessment – Conduct in-depth credit evaluations of corporate and institutional borrowers, analyzing financial statements, cash flows, and market conditions.
  2. Financial Analysis & Reporting – Develop comprehensive credit reports, risk models, and sensitivity analyses to support strategic decision-making.
  3. Portfolio & Risk Monitoring – Continuously track and assess the performance of credit portfolios, identifying potential risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
  4. Stakeholder Communication – Present findings and recommendations to senior management, credit committees, and external stakeholders with clear, data-driven insights.
  5. Regulatory Compliance & Policy Development – Ensure adherence to internal credit policies and regulatory requirements, contributing to the enhancement of risk management frameworks.
  6. Technology & Data Tools – Utilize financial modeling software, risk assessment tools, and business intelligence platforms for analysis and reporting.
Key Qualifications & Skills
  1. Education & Certifications
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Professional certifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), FRM (Financial Risk Manager), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or PRM (Professional Risk Manager) are highly preferred.
  2. Credit & Financial Analysis
    • Expertise in financial statement analysis, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Strong understanding of credit risk models (PD, LGD, EAD) and stress testing methodologies.
    • Experience in structuring and assessing corporate loans, syndicated loans, and trade finance products.
    • Ability to perform industry benchmarking and sectoral credit risk assessments.
    • Knowledge of financial ratios (liquidity, solvency, profitability) and their impact on creditworthiness.
  3. Risk Management & Regulatory Compliance
    • Familiarity with Basel III regulations, IFRS 9, and other credit risk-related regulatory frameworks.
    • Understanding of credit rating methodologies (Moody's, S&P, Fitch) and how they impact lending decisions.
    • Experience in preparing credit policy frameworks and risk appetite statements.
    • Strong grasp of internal credit approval processes, including exposure limits, collateral requirements, and covenant monitoring.
  4. Market & Industry Knowledge
    • In-depth knowledge of macroeconomic indicators and how they influence credit markets.
    • Understanding of geopolitical and industry-specific risks that impact credit quality.
    • Familiarity with financial institutions, corporate borrowers, SMEs, and project finance.
    • Ability to assess emerging risks such as ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors in credit decisions.
    • Experience in monitoring credit exposures and early warning signals for potential defaults.
    • Ability to assess and restructure distressed loans and recommend recovery strategies.
    • Expertise in loan portfolio diversification and risk mitigation techniques.
    • Proficiency in conducting credit audits and stress testing scenarios for portfolios.
  5. Technical & Analytical Skills
    • Experience with risk analytics platforms such as Moody's RiskCalc, S&P Capital IQ, or Bloomberg Terminal.
    • Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or SAS for credit data visualization and reporting.
    • Understanding of machine learning applications in credit risk assessment (optional but beneficial).
  6. Communication & Decision-Making
    • Strong report-writing skills for preparing detailed credit memos and investment proposals.
    • Ability to articulate credit recommendations and risk factors to senior management and credit committees.
    • Excellent negotiation skills for structuring credit deals and terms with borrowers.
    • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities for guiding junior credit analysts.
  7. Project & Workflow Management
    • Experience working with credit workflow tools such as Moody's CreditLens, FICO, or internal risk engines.
    • Familiarity with project management software like Notion, Trello, Asana, or Microsoft Teams.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally with risk, finance, legal, and compliance teams.
    • Strong time management skills to handle multiple credit assessments simultaneously.
  8. Strategic Thinking & Problem-Solving
    • Ability to anticipate market changes and their impact on credit portfolios.
    • Proactive approach to improving credit processes and enhancing risk-adjusted returns.
    • Strong business acumen to align credit risk strategies with broader corporate objectives.
