Risk Manager

Company Introduction:

We are a leading EPC contracting company in Saudi Arabia, specializing in high-voltage substations, overhead transmission lines (OHTL), power plants, water treatment facilities, pipelines, and large-scale infrastructure projects. As part of our commitment to project excellence and operational resilience, we are looking for a seasoned Risk Manager to identify, assess, and manage project and business risks across all phases of execution.

Position Overview:

The Risk Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive risk management framework across EPC projects. The role includes identifying financial, operational, contractual, environmental, and safety risks, as well as working closely with project stakeholders to ensure effective mitigation strategies and risk control plans are in place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential project, commercial, financial, legal, and operational risks across project lifecycles.
  • Conduct risk workshops and interviews with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain risk registers and risk assessment matrices.
  • Work with engineering, procurement, HSE, commercial, and project control teams to design risk response and mitigation strategies.
  • Prioritize risks based on probability, impact, and cost and develop contingency plans accordingly.
  • Ensure risk actions are implemented, monitored, and tracked to closure.

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Regularly update risk registers and provide early warning signals to project management.
  • Develop and present risk dashboards, analysis reports, and executive summaries.
  • Coordinate with project controls to integrate risk impact into cost and schedule forecasts.

Compliance & Corporate Governance:

  • Ensure adherence to internal risk management policies and compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits related to project and corporate risk processes.
  • Lead the implementation of ISO 31000 risk management standards across projects.

Contractual & Commercial Risk Analysis:

  • Review tender documents, contract clauses, and insurance coverage to identify potential risks.
  • Support legal and commercial teams in evaluating claims, penalties, and contractual disputes.
  • Evaluate risks related to change orders, liquidated damages, subcontractor liabilities, etc.
  • Conduct risk awareness and training sessions for project teams and department heads.
  • Promote a risk-aware culture and proactive risk identification across the organization.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration to improve risk transparency and accountability.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree in Business Administration or Risk Management is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in risk management in EPC, infrastructure, or construction industries.
  • Experience in substations, OHTL, water, or power projects is highly desirable.

Key Skills:

  • Proficiency in risk analysis tools (Primavera Risk Analysis, @Risk, MS Excel) and reporting tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 31000, FMEA, SWOT, Monte Carlo simulations, and quantitative risk analysis methods.
  • Strong knowledge of contractual and commercial risk structures in EPC projects.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Certifications:

  • IRMS, ISO 31000 Certified Risk Manager, or other industry-recognized certifications
