We are seeking a highly experienced Risk Manager to join a leading construction consultancy in Riyadh. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with a background in risk management, particularly within the built environment and construction sector, and a strong understanding of large-scale projects. The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of experience and a westerly education, offering a comprehensive understanding of international risk management practices applied to the Middle Eastern context.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Risk Identification & Assessment: Lead risk identification workshops and assessments throughout the project lifecycle to proactively identify risks and establish mitigation strategies.
  2. Risk Register Management: Develop, maintain, and update the risk register for major construction projects, ensuring all risks are tracked, categorized, and mitigated appropriately.
  3. Quantitative & Qualitative Analysis: Conduct both quantitative and qualitative risk analysis, providing forecasts and recommendations to mitigate potential impacts on cost, schedule, and quality.
  4. Reporting & Communication: Develop risk management reports for senior stakeholders and project teams, presenting clear and actionable insights on risk exposure and mitigation strategies.
  5. Strategic Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management strategies tailored to the specific project and client needs, aligned with international best practices in construction and the built environment.
  6. Collaboration with Project Teams: Work closely with project managers, consultants, and contractors to ensure risk mitigation actions are implemented effectively.
  7. Compliance & Standards: Ensure that all risk management practices comply with local regulations and industry standards, while also being aligned with international standards.
  8. Training & Mentorship: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior risk management professionals within the organization.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 15 years of experience in risk management, particularly within the construction or built environment sector.
  2. Western-educated background (Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field).
  3. Proven experience in leading risk management for large-scale construction projects.
  4. Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks, including ISO 31000, and industry-standard risk management software and tools.
  5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and project teams.
  6. In-depth understanding of the construction industry in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia.
  7. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  8. Ability to work under pressure and handle complex project dynamics.
  9. Fluency in English (Arabic language skills are an advantage).
