We are seeking a skilled and proactive individual to join our team as a Contract Manager. This key position plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance and optimisation of contract performance. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organisational skills and a keen understanding of contract management principles, providing strategic guidance and expert support to various departments within our organisation.

Main Responsibilities in Contract Management

  1. Develop, review, and negotiate contracts to ensure compliance with legal and company standards.
  2. Coordinate with project teams to provide guidance on contract matters, safeguarding company interests.
  3. Manage contractual changes and amendments, minimizing business risks and maximizing value for the company.
  4. Oversee the execution of contracts, ensuring adherence to agreed terms and conditions.
  5. Facilitate communication and understanding of contract stipulations amongst stakeholders.
  6. Conduct regular audits of existing contracts to ensure compliance and performance.
  7. Draft contracts and be responsible for contract renewals.
  8. Prepare detailed reports and summaries on contractual matters for senior management.
  9. Assist in preparing project budgets and forecasts, ensuring that financial goals are met while adhering to contractual agreements.
  10. Analyze contract pricing structures and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Essential Requirements and Qualifications for a Contract Manager

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum 10-12 years of experience as a Contracts Manager or similar role in the construction industry or real estate.
  3. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, legal terminology, and procurement procedures.
  4. Exceptional attention to detail with a strong ability to manage multiple contracts concurrently.
  5. Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills to effectively manage stakeholder relationships.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software.
  7. Ability to work independently while ensuring alignment with company goals and policies.

Preferred Experience and Skills in Contract Management

  1. Experience in a fast-paced environment dealing with complex multi-layered contracts.
  2. Proven track record of improving contract management processes and reducing litigation risks.
