The Role

As a Legal Counsel, based in our offices in Riyadh, you will provide legal expertise, working on contract drafting, corporate matters, intellectual property, and real estate.

What you'll be doing

  1. Follow all relevant Group policies, processes and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  2. Implement activities under minimal supervision.
  3. Escalate complex problems to the relevant person to ensure case/issue is closed efficiently and in a timely manner.
  4. Prepare a wide variety of legal documents under the Senior Legal Manager supervision.
  5. Develop and/or review drafts of contracts and agreements.
  6. Conduct legal and factual research and data analysis as directed.
  7. Provide legal analysis of contractual and regulatory issues.
  8. Convey legal advice and follow-up information on to manager, in consultation with Attorneys or external Lawyers, regarding the legal implications, risks, and liabilities of proposed and actual policies, practices, and contractual situations.
  9. Negotiate specific contractual issues and agreements with external entities as appropriate.
  10. Participate in meeting and conferences pertaining to resolution of contracting issues.
  11. Participate in the review of new legislation requiring contractual compliance, and implements systems required to obtain compliance.
  12. Develop contracts to achieve compliance and negotiate legal issues as appropriate.
  13. Establish, maintain, process, and/or oversee files, correspondence, databases, records, certificates and/or other documents.
  14. Liaise with government officials, business divisions, external law offices, brand principles, JV companies and management on various legal issues.
  15. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  16. Provide support in intellectual property protection and commercial proceedings.
  17. Liaise with trade mark agents for registering various trademarks.
  18. Prepare and negotiate licenses and other contracts for protection of IP assets.
  19. Liaise in regard to patent, trademark, copyright, antitrust, trade secret, right of publicity, and unfair competition issues with external law officers.
  20. Participate in relevant projects and community activities as and when needed.

What you'll need to succeed

  1. You possess at least 2 to 4 years of legal drafting experience in a fast paced environment.
  2. You have experience in commercial legal drafting.
  3. You possess a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Law.
  4. You are a fluent Arabic and English speaker.
  5. You have a thirst for knowledge, are proactive, and have the ability to self manage.
  6. You possess strong communication skills.
