Technical Support Specialist

**Summary**: The Level 1 Support Specialist is responsible for providing first-line technical support to end-users. This role involves responding to and resolving technical inquiries, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and escalating more complex problems to higher-level support staff.
**Key Responsibilities**:
2. **Troubleshooting**: - Identify and troubleshoot issues with desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices. - Perform basic network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues and printer problems. - Escalate unresolved issues to Level 2 support or other relevant departments.
3. **Documentation and Reporting**: - Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions in the helpdesk system. - Create and update technical documentation and user guides. - Provide regular reports on common issues and resolutions to the IT Support Manager.
4. **Customer Service**: - Communicate effectively with end-users to understand their technical issues and provide timely solutions. - Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by providing professional and courteous service. - Follow up with users to ensure issues are fully resolved.
5. **System Maintenance**: - Assist in the setup and deployment of new hardware and software. - Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates and virus scans. - Monitor system performance and report any potential issues to senior staff.
Qualifications:
Education:
- A diploma or a bachelor's degree in information technology.
**Experience**: - Previous experience in a technical support or customer service role is a plus.
- **Soft Skills**: - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
**Work Environment**: - This role may require occasional evening or weekend work to support maintenance activities or emergency issues. - The position involves regular use of standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, and printers.
