**About the FII Institute**

The FII Institute is a new generation of global foundation that ensures the world’s brightest ideas find their way to materialize, scale and create positive sustainable impact on humanity. The FII Institute will achieve its vision through three execution vehicles - THINK, ACT, XCHANGE, each delicately designed to position the Institute uniquely as a global leader in both cultivating and supporting the implementation of innovative ideas. The Institute accompanies each of the promising ideas from ideation to realization by providing the necessary support to overcome major inhibitors that would have otherwise limited the ideas’ chances of becoming reality.

The THINK Pillar has been mandated to (i) Identify societal challenges and current inhibitors and (ii) to lead on curating the brightest ideas to address societal issues.

The FII-INSTITUTE Strategic Thinking Manager (STM) will support the Director of Think in establishing the FII-I as a thought leader global brand in healthcare, sustainability and technology to solve global challenges. The STM will lead the development of annual roadmaps to implement the THINK strategy, whilst working closely with the Director of Think and the Idea Curation Manager to share ideas to transform challenges into creative and innovation solutions that can impact change on humanity. In parallel, the STM will also manage the research agenda that aims to set the FII-I as a credible global think tank, working closely with the Head of Partnerships in building networks with partners that facilitate the FII-I mission to empower the brightest minds to benefit society. The STM should be bold enough in devising solutions to solve complex problems. With this role, you may be presented with the opportunity to attend high-level global conferences and summits, on behalf of the FII Institute to network with different strategic stakeholders.

**Main Duties**

Thought Leadership
- In alignment with the Director of Think, coordinate with the Partnership and Idea Curation Managers to implement a strategy on how the Institute should lead the debate for topics to position itself as a global think tank
- Research, identify and plan visibility opportunities and develop content to showcase FII global thought leadership in themes/topics/interest areas aligned to strategic pillars
- Proposes research topics that support transferring conceptual thoughts into ideas to impact global change.
- Develop a personal work plan to improve their capacity to foster innovative ideas to enhance the ability of the FII-Institute to be a global think tank.

Strategy:

- Lead the development of annual roadmaps to implement the THINK strategy, identifying priorities, key topics and key performance indicators to ensure that deadlines are met timely and qualitatively.
- Align the roadmap with the Director of Think with the FII-I Leadership and other pillar directors

Project Management:

- Develop/ update Think action plan to implement the objectives outlined in the defined Think roadmap in close alignment with the Think director and managers
- Acts as the Secretary to the Think Advisory Board acting as an interface between FII-I and the Board

Strategic Communications
- Support Director of Think and team in external communication in drafting speeches, presentations, articles and interviews to maintain current positioning on key topics and strategies
- Collaborate with the FII-I overall Marketing/Communications team in aligning and coordinating Think PR, campaigns, content and messaging
- Advise on media and visibility planning in accordance with the priorities for Think

**Requirements**:

- Advanced Degree in social science preferred
- 6-8 years’ experience in designing solutions to solve complex problems. Experience in science-based organizations is a plus
- Experience in emerging and developing economies is a plus
- Proven competence in producing high calibre articles/op-eds and similar (please share examples)
- Proven experience in converting technical ideas into information that can easily be understood
- Confidence and ability to work with leading researchers, academics, policy makers and scientists
- Ability to analyze concepts and conceptualize them in a concise and creative manner
- Employs a growth mindset and adopts a can-do approach when handling more challenging assignments
- Takes time to listen to and understand the perspectives of others and proposes
