As a Building Envelope Specialist, your role is to ensure the integrity, performance, and sustainability of building envelopes in construction projects. You will be responsible for assessing, designing, and overseeing the installation of building envelope systems to ensure they meet functional, aesthetic, and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of building envelope solutions.

**Responsibilities**
- Building Envelope Design: Assess project requirements and collaborate with design teams to develop building envelope design concepts. Consider factors such as energy efficiency, moisture management, thermal insulation, acoustics, and aesthetic appeal. Provide expertise in material selection, system compatibility, and constructability.
- Technical Analysis and Evaluation: Conduct technical analysis and simulations to assess the performance of building envelope systems. Evaluate the impact of factors such as wind loads, thermal bridging, moisture migration, and acoustic requirements. Identify and recommend appropriate design solutions to meet performance goals.
- Building Codes and Regulations: Stay updated on local building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to building envelopes. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, accessibility requirements, fire safety regulations, and sustainability guidelines.
- Construction Oversight: Provide technical support during the construction phase to ensure proper installation and implementation of building envelope systems. Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with design intent and quality standards. Address any construction issues, resolve conflicts, and coordinate with contractors and subcontractors.
- Quality Assurance and Testing: Develop and implement quality assurance procedures for building envelope systems. Conduct performance testing, such as air leakage tests, water penetration tests, and thermal imaging, to verify the effectiveness of the systems. Evaluate test results, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities associated with the building envelope systems. Develop strategies to mitigate risks related to moisture intrusion, air leakage, thermal inefficiencies, and durability. Collaborate with the project team to integrate risk mitigation measures into the design and construction process.
- Building Envelope Commissioning: Participate in building envelope commissioning activities to ensure that the installed systems perform as intended. Coordinate with commissioning agents, perform functional testing, and verify the performance of the building envelope systems. Generate commissioning reports and documentation.
- Research and Innovation: Stay informed about emerging trends, materials, technologies, and best practices related to building envelope design and construction. Conduct research and analysis to propose innovative and sustainable solutions for building envelope systems.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings related to building envelope systems. Maintain accurate documentation of design decisions, calculations, and project correspondence. Prepare progress reports and communicate updates to project stakeholders.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders. Participate in design meetings, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and provide technical guidance and support. Communicate complex technical concepts to nontechnical team members and stakeholders.
- Other tasks assigned by HgP.

**Requirements**:

- Preferred Secret Clearance but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in building envelope design and construction, preferably in the commercial, institutional, or residential sectors.
- Strong knowledge of building envelope systems, including wall assemblies, roofing systems, fenestration, waterproofing, and insulation.
- Familiarity with building science principles, moisture management, thermal performance, air infiltration, and energy efficiency.
- Proficiency in building envelope design software, such as Autodesk Revit, WUFI, or equivalent tools.
- Understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to building envelopes (e.g., ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, ASTM, etc.). - Experience with building envelope testing methods and equipment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex building envelope issues and propose effective solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
