**JOB PURPOSE**

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Saudi Maintenance and Supply Chain Management Company (SMSCMC). SMSCMC was created as a Saudi Arabian joint venture company co-owned by BAE Systems and local shareholders to deliver KSA industrialisation of supply chain management and thereby support Saudi Vision 2030.

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**

Reporting into the Head of Commercial, the role of the Principal Estimator will require understanding business requirements and developing appropriate Cost Analysis and Costing / Pricing Strategies and Plans to meet these requirements. Responsibilities of the role will include:

- Analysing historical cost, programme and technical data at SMSCMC across core programmes
- Coordinating the generation of new cost estimates and costing / pricing models to inform the business
- Identifying and developing cost reduction opportunities within the supply chain to assist with cost challenges set by our customers
- “What if” and “should cost” scenario modelling using a range of techniques and toolsets including raw engineering data
- Coordination of cost and pricing activities across the business to ensure all aspects of the programme and associated risks are fully costed and considered
- Lead / support supplier price negotiations and customer audits
- Support to the Lifecycle Management (LCM) process including compilation, substantiation and presentation of costs / prices at Request for Bid Approval (RBA)
- Preparation of presentation material for inclusion in management and/or Customer briefs
- Support to and attendance at project and bid reviews
- Customer and Stakeholder Management.

**RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION**

Essential:

- Currently operating within or has relevant operational / business experience in cost analysis, planning, forecasting or business modelling / analysis
- An appreciation of the activities carried out within typical supply chain to help make informed decisions when estimating or analysing costings
- Advanced MS Excel skills to be utilised in modelling and analysis with an analytical mind set and investigative approach with excellent numeracy skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate and influence management information effectively in a clear and succinct manner.

Desirable:

- Have experience in the use of data analysis / visualisation tools e.g., POWER BI, TABLEAU
- Ideally educated to a degree standard e.g. Maths, Statistics, Business or Engineering.
