**Main Purpose**:

- Lead seasoning/flavour development from idea inception through finished product commercialisation for MENA-Pak across all snacks brands;
- Develop flavour strategies including optimum sourcing routes for all MENA-Pak snacks incorporating flavour trends and flavour mapping;
- Lead multiple global projects for which MENA-Pak is the lead market developing global strategy and ensuring global compatibility;
- Identify flavor & flavoring technology gap for MENA-Pak, and charter internally (within Function) or externally (with suppliers);
- Leverage SBPT expert & expertise to move R&D assisted seasoning trials from project timeline to support STM;
- Maintain the well-being of seasoning team in MENA-Pak;
- Maintain the compliance of BriefCase for seasoning innovation, as well as the budget for T&E and non-AOP projects.
**Key Accountabilities**:

- Set the agenda for seasoning programmes. Collaborate with Insights and Marketing to define flavor strategy for each brand, each demand space, the business-problem-to-solve, and the consumer-problem-to-solve.
- Lead the renovation strategy for seasonings across MENA-Pak to meet both internal WWP guardrails and external commitments
- Explore with global flavour function new/existing methods for flavor delivery to create optimal flavor experience
- Lead a team of 2 to 3 direct reports at levels 4 to 8 based in multiple countries. Indirect staff via project manager line management
- Take accountability of identifying technical solutions for MENA-Pak calendar activities. Proactively challenging the suitability and performance of product designs in order to maintain a competitive advantage in terms of product acceptance, unique product design, cost of goods etc.
- Partner with both internal and external seasoning/flavor developers to leverage their expertise and yours to execute development to optimize performance against flavor briefs.
- Collaborate with internal/external sensory partners to evaluate consumer response to developed seasonings/flavors. In conjunction with the global flavor function, leverage internal/external analytical & sensory partners to qualify/quantify taste & volatile profiles, and to define seasoning material properties
- Leverage expertise inside and outside the organisation to deliver product and process development.

**Qualifications/Requirements**:**
Key Skills/Experience Required**:

- First Degree or equivalent in a Science or Engineering related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years previous project & people management experience in FMCG R&D, covering product & process development ideally within flavour development.
- Understanding of manufacturing relating to PepsiCo products and processes
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and distil into meaningful information e.g. interpreting consumer insights, experimental design and statistical inference
- Strong project management skills to effectively drive a complex project
- Strong presentation skills (written & verbal)
- Capable to frequently taste/sample products, discern product design/flavor attributes, and provide qualitative feedback to functional peers, cross functional partners, and suppliers.
- Seasoning development capability is desirable to drive technical competencies within MENA-Pak and across the flavour function.
- Deputise as required for R&D Directors to represent R&D interest at key forums (e.g. Foods Innovation Council, operations reviews).
