About the Role

Mace is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Commercial Director to lead our commercial activities on a major mixed-use development project in Saudi Arabia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the project, including contract negotiation, cost management, and procurement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the commercial team, ensuring that all commercial activities are aligned with the project's objectives and goals.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead the negotiation of contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring that the best possible terms are achieved for Mace.
  • Cost Management: Oversee the development and implementation of the project's cost management plan, ensuring that costs are accurately estimated and managed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Procurement: Manage the procurement process, including the preparation and review of tender documents, the evaluation of tender submissions, and the negotiation of contracts.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue business opportunities that align with Mace's strategic objectives, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and clients.
  • Team Management: Lead and develop a team of commercial professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver the project's commercial objectives.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree qualification in quantity surveying, cost management, or a related field.
  • Professional Membership: Professional membership or working towards MRICS/RICS or equivalent.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in commercial management, contract negotiation, and procurement, with a proven track record of delivering commercial objectives on large-scale projects.
  • Skills: Strong commercial and financial acumen, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Language: Fluency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
