About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our team at AECOM. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for leading the tendering process, negotiating contracts, and managing commercial risks associated with projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tendering and Bidding: Lead the tendering process, including reviewing tender documents, preparing bids, and negotiating contracts with clients and subcontractors.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favorable contract terms and conditions to mitigate risks and maximize profitability.
  • Cost Estimation: Provide accurate cost estimates and budget forecasts for projects, identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess commercial risks associated with projects, develop risk mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Supplier Management: Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, including negotiating agreements, monitoring performance, and resolving disputes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., MRICS, CIPS) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in commercial management, preferably within the construction or engineering.
  • Proven experience in both pre and post-contract commercial activities, including tendering, contract negotiation, cost estimation, and contract administration.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and contractual principles, with the ability to interpret and apply complex contract terms and conditions.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in commercial management software and Microsoft Office suite, with advanced skills in Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
