Parsons Oman is seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Specialist to support our team in delivering high-quality projects. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining cost control systems, as well as providing planning functions on major projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the project controls management in developing the baseline budget with appropriate WBS interfacing with various disciplines and in coordination with the Project Manager and Scheduler.
  • Assist in the analysis, evaluation, forecasting, and reporting of cost status against the established baseline in collaboration with the planning team.
  • Prepare/update various weekly and monthly cost tracking reports.
  • Work closely with project teams in establishing monthly and quarterly resource, revenue, and cost projections for projects.
  • Perform variance analysis against the baseline projections and follow up on the initiatives and recommended corrective actions and report to management.
  • Utilize historical data and trends for use in maintaining a realistic basis for future planning and forecasting.
  • Assist in monitoring, tracking, and reporting on KPIs like project revenue, costs, billings, collections progress, and perform Earned Value Analysis, Net Assets Value, etc. Participate in the monthly & quarterly reviews and support the project team in explaining the variances and justifications.
  • Assist in the resolution of difficult and complex cost control problems under guidance, direction, and specialized advice from Projects Control engineers and managers.
  • Support the Projects Control Manager/Director in reviewing and finalizing the business plan.
  • Assist in customizing project control systems reports to meet specific project requirements.
  • Interface with clients, attend regular meetings, and provide statistical reports.
  • Coordinate with other Departments to ensure that all costs are properly charged on jobs and project cost control has full visibility.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, accounting, finance, or related field from an accredited university/institution is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience in project controls, invoice review, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting of mega engineering construction or entertainment construction projects is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required.
  • Proficient PC skills in MS Office (Advanced Excel skills) & Power BI are required.
  • Proven ability and team working skills to perform in this capacity.
Desired Skills
  • Professional degrees like CA, CPA, CIMA, or ACCA are desirable.
  • A track record with PMC and Main Contractors would be a suitable background.
  • Strong knowledge of industry practices and standards.
