Job Summary

As a Chief Operations Manager at Asterix Communications, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our engineering and facilities department. This includes managing budgets, capital expenditure projects, preventive maintenance, and energy efficiency initiatives. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and leading emergency response teams to address equipment issues.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage hotel operations and engineering budgets.
  2. Supervise the engineering department in the absence of the engineering director.
  3. Assist in managing mechanical equipment, including equipment, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, and fire safety systems.
  4. Ensure the efficient, effective, and safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  5. Develop and manage effective room maintenance plans.
  6. Ensure compliance with all engineering department policies, standards, and procedures.
  7. Manage departmental controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budget targets.
  8. Choose and purchase or procure new equipment, supplies, and furniture.
  9. Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required.
  10. Recommend or arrange for additional services, such as painting, repair work, renovations, and replacement of furniture and equipment.
  11. Supervise the daily operations of the engineering department.
  12. Maintain hotel standards.
  13. Keep accurate logs and records as needed.
  14. Assist in effectively planning, scheduling, and evaluating preventive maintenance plans.
  15. Provide excellent customer service.
  16. Efficiently handle guest complaints and issues.
  17. Authorize employees to provide excellent customer service.
  18. Exemplify excellent customer service and create a positive atmosphere for customer relationships, demonstrating leadership in guest relations.
  19. Manage profitability.
  20. Help determine the hotel's overall maintenance needs and priorities.
  21. Ensure continuous communication in all areas of responsibility to increase awareness of business objectives, recognition of expectations, and acknowledgment of demonstrated performance.
  22. Manage and develop human resources activities.
