Role Overview

The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a critical role in managing the company's financial obligations, maintaining positive vendor relationships, and ensuring accuracy and integrity of Accounts Payable transactions.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors.
  2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records in accordance with accounting standards.
  3. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  4. Ensure credit notes are accurately received and documented.
  5. Communicate with vendors to resolve any issues related to payments or invoices.
  6. Manage the accounts payable email inbox and respond to inquiries promptly and professionally.
  7. Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including reconciliations and accruals.
  8. Prepare accounts payable aging reports and support the Treasury ops team in processing the payments.
  9. Provide support for other finance functions as needed.
  10. Oversee petty cash, corporate cards, and the accurate recording and documentation of all expenses.

Ideal Candidate

Qualifications

  1. Must have a minimum of 3 years work experience as an Accountant.
  2. Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  3. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
  4. Experience with general ledger functions.
  5. Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
  6. Must be a holder of any Accounting, Finance or relevant degree.
  7. Hands-on experience with accounting software like ZohoBooks and QuickBooks is a major plus.
  8. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
