About the Role

The Construction Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, this individual will be responsible for overseeing the performance of the technical staff on site and ensuring that quality is delivered in accordance with our high standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Contract Management: The Construction Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the EPC Contractor complies with all project agreements, including the Power Purchase Agreement, EPC Contract, and O&M Agreement.
  2. Site Supervision: This individual will oversee the integrated site team to ensure that the EPC Contractor's construction progress, quality of works, and commissioning are in line with our expectations.
  3. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): The Construction Manager will ensure that the EPC Contractor adheres to all site HSE rules and regulations at every stage of construction.
  4. Method Statement and Risk Analysis: This individual will ensure that the EPC Contractor executes the works in accordance with approved Method Statements and Risk Analyses.
  5. Site Organization: The Construction Manager will be responsible for organizing the site layout, offices, storage area, and other facilities.
  6. Meetings and Progress Updates: This individual will assist in weekly site meetings, progress meetings, and discipline technical meetings with the EPC Contractor.
  7. Work Monitoring: The Construction Manager will monitor and check the EPC Contractor's work across each discipline to ensure timely delivery.
  8. Reporting and Invoicing: This individual will provide the Project Manager with inputs for monthly progress reports and relevant information for checking EPC Contractor invoices.
  9. Logbook Management: The Construction Manager will verify the site logbook managed by the EPC Contractor and issue the O/OE logbook.
  10. Schedule Management: In cooperation with the schedule engineer, this individual will follow up on actual progress versus planned values.
  11. Critical Path Management: The Construction Manager will ensure that critical activities are executed according to schedule and look for opportunities to create margin within the critical path.
  12. Recovery Planning: This individual will analyze works and impose optimizations towards the Contractor where possible and evaluate and approve all recovery plans for delayed activities.
  13. Progress Reporting: The Construction Manager will support the schedule engineer in drafting progress reports towards the Project Manager/Project Director.
  14. On-Site Management: Daily management of on-site technical personnel, including hours present, leave, etc., for personnel reporting directly to this individual, in cooperation with the HR manager.
Requirements
  1. A bachelor's degree in any relevant discipline of engineering is a must.
  2. Minimum 10 years of construction management experience, with at least 5 years of experience in PV technology.
  3. Strong EPC experience dealing with IPP projects is required.
  4. Experience in handling at least 2 large full-cycle PV projects is essential.
  5. Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
  6. Should have handled projects of similar size and complexity, with a track record of at least one project construction completed.
  7. Knowledgeable on international standards, environmental legislation, and 'best practice' in relation to construction.
  8. Fluency in English with strong written and oral communication skills is required.
  9. IT proficiency, particularly in MS Word, MS Excel, or similar, is necessary.
  10. Strong leadership and organizational capabilities, with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical, logical, or process issues in a timely, concise, and objective manner.
  11. Excellent ability to analyze and independently solve a variety of difficult situations and problems using timely decision making.
