About the Role:

The job of substitute ECEAP assistant teacher/teacher is done for the purposes of supporting teachers on an as-needed basis, promoting positive learning environments, and encouraging parental involvement in educational planning and goal setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers with daily classroom activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children.
  • Maintain accurate records, including student attendance, meal counts, and fire safety checklists.
  • Assist with setup and service of meals and snacks, meeting nutritional needs of students.
  • Communicate effectively with families, advocating for parents and encouraging participation in center activities.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; related experience desired.
  • Maintain current pediatric CPR/first aid certificate and Washington State Department of Health Food Worker Card.
  • Disaster plans and emergency procedures training, Universal precautions for prevention of transmission of bloodborne pathogens training, and Preventing, identifying, and reporting child abuse and neglect training required.
  • Candidates must undergo Mantoux tuberculosis (TB) skin test clearance and WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance.
