About the Role

This Senior Contract Management Specialist role is responsible for overseeing the commercial and contractual aspects of projects and ensuring the effective management of subcontractors. The Sr. Contract Management Specialist will administer and participate in change orders, claims, and dispute resolution processes, both related to the client contract and subcontracts, under the direction of the Project Manager and/or Area Contracts Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Contract Administration: Responsible for administering the commercial, legal, and financial aspects of the contract, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Change Order Management: Support the review of change orders from lower-tier subcontractors in line with the main contract requirements, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
  • Contract Execution: Ensure that all key project personnel are aware of relevant commercial and contract execution information, post-award, to ensure a smooth project execution.
  • Commercial Strategy and Direction: Work with the Project Manager and project team to set strategy, manage, and direct the commercial operation of projects from award through successful commercial closeout.
  • Change Management: Ensure an effective Change Management process is in place and diligently pursue contract changes with coordination from the project team and other functional groups.
  • Commercial Baseline and Contract Summary: Ensure the project has in place a commercial baseline and contract summary documentation, providing a clear understanding of the project's commercial status.
  • Risk Management and Contract Compliance: Ensure risk management, contract management, and value improvement processes are fully and uniformly deployed and managed in accordance with procedures, ensuring the best commercial interests of the company are maintained.
  • ECA and Local Content Compliance: Responsible for ensuring the project complies with the ECA and Local Content requirements of the Contract, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Contract Amendments and Change Orders: Prepare and/or provide input to contract amendments or change orders as required, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
  • General Administration: Perform general administration tasks, including minutes keeping, to ensure the smooth operation of the project.
Requirements
  • Experience: Typically, 10-15 years of relevant EPC experience in the Oil & Gas/Energy/Petrochemical Industry.
  • Education: Degree in Engineering or Quantity Surveying, with a post-graduate degree in management or law being an added advantage. Qualifications with relevant professional bodies would be an added advantage.
