Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Event Services Manager to join our team at Marriott International. As an Event Services Manager, you will be responsible for directing and motivating a team of event coordinators while personally assisting in the setup and execution of events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting Event Services Operations
    • Ensure that all event spaces are set up to meet the highest standards of quality and consistency.
    • Delegate tasks to ensure that all events are executed smoothly and on time.
    • Manage departmental inventories and assets, including par levels and maintenance of equipment.
    • Project supply needs for the department and ensure that all necessary materials are available.
    • Conduct regular inspections of event spaces to ensure that they meet the required standards.
    • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all banquet operation areas.
    • Coordinate routine maintenance to ensure a quality meeting facility.
  • Providing Exceptional Customer Service
    • Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
    • Stay available to solve problems and/or suggest alternatives to previous arrangements.
    • Set a positive example for guest relations.
    • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
    • Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints.
  • Conducting Human Resources Activities
    • Set service goals for event service supervisors and employees in order to achieve Event Planner satisfaction goals.
    • Ensure that employees understand expectations and parameters.
    • Attend and participate in all pertinent meetings.
    • Lead shifts and actively participate in the servicing of events.
    • Communicate and execute departmental and property emergency procedures and ensure staff are trained in safety procedures.
    Requirements
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; 3 years of experience in event management, food and beverage, or related professional area.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
