Job Description

The Receptionist Local will receive, register, check in and out guests according to Hotel Brand and legal requirements and enter guest details into the PMS. They will be familiar with all guest rooms to ensure rooms sales are maximized in accordance with selling strategies. The Receptionist Local will be aware of functions, facilities, promotions and events taking place in the hotel. They will process all cashiering transactions in accordance with Front Office Accounting Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and register guests according to Hotel Brand and legal requirements.
  • Enter guest details into the PMS.
  • Familiarize themselves with all guest rooms to maximize room sales.
  • Aware of functions, facilities, promotions and events taking place in the hotel.
  • Process cashiering transactions in accordance with Front Office Accounting Standards.
  • Responsible for float and adherence to accounting procedures.
  • Receive, process and confirm reservations.
  • Be conversant with hotel rooms, availability and rates.
  • Follow Credit Policy and procedures.
  • Maintain documentation as required.
  • Liaise and follow up on actions required for guests.
  • Control and monitor room allocation.
  • Courteously handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls.
  • Be conversant with hotel emergency procedures.
  • Ensure correct billing of telephone charges.
  • Process wake-up calls.
  • Maintain guest voice mail system and manual message system.
  • Maintain additional equipment required for voice communication.
  • Receive guest enquiries and handle accordingly.
  • Liaise with relevant departments.
  • Maintain parcel log and follow procedures.
  • Maintain key log and maintain guest privacy.
  • Weekly safe box inventory.
  • Update guest registration cards and guest profiles.
  • Report health or safety hazards and be aware of Crowne Plaza Hotels Health & Safety Policy.
