About the Role

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager - Environmental Sustainability to lead our environmental initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing environmental policies, procedures, and programs that promote sustainability within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Environmental Policy Development: Develop and implement environmental policies, procedures, and programs that promote sustainability within our organization.
  2. Regulatory Compliance: Monitor compliance with environmental regulations related to air quality standards, water quality standards, hazardous waste management regulations, etc.
  3. Environmental Audits: Conduct environmental audits to identify areas of improvement in waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, noise reduction, etc.
  4. Sustainability Strategies: Develop strategies to reduce our environmental footprint by promoting renewable energy sources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles and aircraft as well as ground support equipment.
  5. Team Management: Manage a team of Environmental & Sustainability professionals and guide project teams during planning, design development, tendering, and construction supervision to enable achievement of project sustainability and environmental goals.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop sustainability initiatives that align with business goals and educate employees on sustainable practices through training programs and communication campaigns.
  7. Data Analysis: Analyze data related to energy consumption, waste generation from terminal buildings, water usage, environmentally friendly techniques, reusable building material, etc., to identify opportunities for improvement.
  8. Supplier Management: Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure they meet sustainability requirements.
  9. Industry Knowledge: Stay up to date on new developments in environmental regulations specific to airports and best practices in sustainability management for airports.
Requirements
  1. Education: Master's degree in environmental science, sustainability management, or related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in environmental management or sustainability, preferably in the transportation industry (Airport and/or Rail).
  3. Knowledge: Strong knowledge of environmental regulations specific to airports (local/state/federal) and sustainability initiatives worldwide.
  4. Skills: Excellent project management skills, strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, ability to work collaboratively across departments and stakeholders, and passion for sustainability and protecting the environment.
  5. Certifications: Documented participation in the preparation of a third-party sustainability certification application (e.g., LEED, Envision, Estidama), including at least two (2) completed, certified projects.
