About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE Team Leader to join our team at pladis Foods Limited. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for maintaining a high level of knowledge and expertise in Health, Safety, and Environment matters.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Health, Safety, and Environment Expertise: Maintain a high level of knowledge and expertise in Health, Safety, and Environment matters to provide advice and support to the Regional HSEQ Manager and the site.
  2. Continuous Improvement: Facilitate continuous improvement in all aspects of the site's HSE management systems and standards, in line with the group's systems and policies.
  3. Legislative and Corporate Compliance: Provide managers and employees with information on legislative and Corporate compliance, advise on ways of meeting statutory requirements and Corporate HSE Policies and national codes of practice.
  4. Incident Investigation and Review: Investigate and review significant accidents, incidents, complaints, and pollution events, and identify solutions to prevent recurrence.
  5. Crisis Incident Management: Support the Crisis Incident Management (CIM) process for HSE issues by carrying out formal risk assessments and reporting into the site's Green Team.
  6. HSE Committee Participation: Take an active part in the site HSE committee.
  7. HSE Agenda Development: Drive the HSE agenda for the site, address issues, and determine site requirements for improvements.
  8. SOP Approval: Approve SOPs relating to HSE where required.
  9. HSE Training: Provide and advise on appropriate site HSE training as required.
  10. Audit and Monitoring: Audit, monitor, and review the implementation of Health and Safety policies, working practices, safety procedures, and standards for all respective operations as directed by the Compliance Manager and Central Compliance team.
  11. Site Audits: Coordinate all site audits through the Central Audit Team and accompany auditors on site.
  12. HSE Performance Reporting: Collate data and information and report on the site's HSE performance.
  13. Risk Assessment: Drive risk assessment processes to continuously improve site's health and safety performance.
  14. Regulatory Interface: Represent the site for regulatory health, safety & environmental authorities.
  15. Accident and Incident Reporting: Proactively manage the site's Accident & Incident Reporting Systems, making recommendations for future improvements to prevent recurrence where necessary.
  16. Regulatory Interface: Interface with regulatory authorities and insurers on key matters such as fire risk assessment and certification, environmental management, emergency planning, and safety improvement plans.
  17. Occupational Health and HR Liaison: Maintain close liaison with Occupational Health (HSE) and Human Resources (HR) to ensure H & S provisions are met and understood.
  18. ISO 45001 and 14001 Implementation: Work on implementing ISO 45001 and 14001 in the site.
