Responsibilities:- Transportation of EAF Slag Powder/Cold Slag Rocks: Safely operate a heavy dumper truck to transport EAF slag powder/cold slag rocks from the slag pit to the designated dumping area.
- Transportation of Sand for Slag Pots: Transport sand for slag pots to ensure smooth operation of the slag shift operation, following the shift foreman's planning for daily shift jobs and keeping the reliever informed about truck condition.
- Transportation of Slag: Transport slag from one plant to another while avoiding over-speeding during travel in the plant or on public roads and not exceeding the weight limit of the dump truck.
- Adherence to Safety Rules: Adhere to general safety rules regarding loading, hauling, dumping, stocking, and parking of the vehicle, and load/unload materials with the functioning of hydraulic systems in dumpers.
- Knowledge of Traffic Rules: Knowledge of traffic rules to be followed inside the steel plant and on public roads.
- Preventive Checks: Conduct preventive checks for tipper trucks, including cleaning of filters and the radiator with air, checking petrol levels, daily cleaning of the truck bed, and proper coordination with the shovel operator to dump slag or slag powder.
- Equipment Inspection: Daily check and inspect equipment condition prior to operation and report any equipment breakdowns to the shift foreman or inform concerned authorities of any abnormalities during the shift operation.
- Compliance with Standard Operating Procedures: Follow and comply with standard operating procedures of the dumper truck, site safety observation SOPs, company safety rules and regulations, and use PPE while working in the plant.
- Organizational HS&E Policies: Understand and follow the organizational HS&E policies.
- Safety Instructions: Follow safety instructions related to their jobs.
- Reporting Incidents: Report damaged PPE, unsafe machines, or equipment to concerned staff.
- Maintenance of PPE: Keep provided PPEs in good, workable condition.
- Prevention of Accidents: Avoid horseplay and abuse of safety devices, equipment, and welfare facilities.
- Emergency Response: Report any accidents, near misses, or hazardous conditions to the concerned responsible party.
- Safety Training: Attend safety training planned for them.
- Right to Refuse Unsafe Work: Have the right to say "NO" to any unsafe work.
- Support to Slag Operators: Support/help slag operators and the slag handling department when needed; in case of any emergency, can drive other mobile equipment like forklifts, trucks, or trailers when needed.
- Miscellaneous Jobs: Perform miscellaneous jobs, housekeeping, and cleaning as per shift requirements.
