Job Title: Resident Engineer

Job Summary:

The Resident Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the construction of buildings and facilities related to government and defense projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and support to clients on engineering projects, including design, implementation, and administration.
  • Review and evaluate engineering plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Conduct field inspections and monitor the adequacy and acceptability of engineering aspects of project construction work.
  • Provide safety oversight and documentation, and direct corrective actions in cases of life-threatening situations.
  • Submit reports to clients on project progress, including professional analyses of engineering and related problems and recommendations for corrective action.
  • Maintain liaison with clients and contractors to facilitate the resolution of problems.
  • Supervise a team of engineering staff, including draftsmen, inspectors, and other engineers, as needed.
  • Assist clients in training and mentoring initiatives by providing subject matter expertise and conveying cultural meaning and intent.
  • Provide translation services, oral and written, as needed.
Requirements:
  • B.S. or equivalent collegiate degree in civil or other appropriate engineering field.
  • Minimum of 10 years overall experience, with at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in engineering.
  • Expert knowledge of the field of engineering in which engaged and sound knowledge of allied fields bearing upon the engineering work involved.
  • Expert knowledge of building and construction practices and knowledge of building and construction codes.
  • Substantial skill in preparing engineering reports, specifications, and related materials in English.
  • Level 3 English language ability (fluent) and ability to speak and read Arabic.
  • Ability to use a variety of office equipment, including computers running MS Office, copiers, scanners, and digital cameras.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
