Job Purpose:

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the business development strategy to drive growth and expand our presence in the cruise tourism sector. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing key customer relationships, and overseeing promotional activities that increase revenue through enhanced partnerships with cruise lines, travel agents, and other strategic partners.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Developing Business Strategies: Develop and drive the business development strategy, aligning efforts with strategic objectives to attract cruise lines to Cruise Saudi terminals. This includes outlining account plans, defining targets, and ensuring successful lead generation to contracting phases.
  • Customer and Stakeholder Management: Create and implement frameworks for managing cruise line accounts, developing incentive programs, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Lead in generating new business for terminals, shore excursions, and assets. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, gather and analyze customer feedback, and manage accurate Customer Relationship Management systems to report on customer engagement.
  • Travel Agent Support: Provide travel agents with the necessary promotional materials and collateral, and make strategic recommendations to enhance marketing efforts. Educate travel agents on Cruise Saudi products and assist in developing effective sales and marketing plans. Support cruise lines in sourcing markets from the KSA and GCC regions as needed.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Analyze and report on commercial performance, providing regular updates to senior management on key metrics such as revenue, profitability, customer satisfaction, and market share. This includes monitoring market developments and recommending adjustments to strategies as needed.
  • Needs Assessment and Competitor Analysis: Build complex frameworks to fully assess the scope and context of short-term and long-term business needs. Oversee competitor assessment functions, ensuring precision in evaluation of the competitive landscape, competitor strengths and weaknesses, and identification of opportunities and threats.
  • Strategic Partnering: Drive strategic plans for strategic partnering, focusing on innovative partner identification, relationship building techniques, and partnership agreement negotiations.
  • Partnership Deal Management: Implementing the strategy to manage the preparation and prioritization of the finalization, closing, and management of deals, such as partnerships and collaborations. Lead deal structuring, term sheet and contract development, terms and deal negotiation, and deal execution. Lead executed deal handover, including postmortem analysis and formal meeting, to transition each deal to business owners and sponsor and alliance management, as needed.
  • Negotiation: Participate in formulating the strategy to communicate with clients and business partners to negotiate and establish sales or buying deals, building positive relationships in the process. Be aware of, and take into account, the end goal of all parties, and actively participate in due diligence, including legal, financial, commercial, and business implications.

Key Requirements:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in business administration or any related discipline is required. An MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of ten years of experience with experience in a relevant function and in progressively increasing managerial responsibilities.
