We are a family-owned company established in 1924, which has evolved into a leading global specialist in project freight forwarding. Our expertise spans various cargo types including break bulk, out of gauge, dangerous goods, and oversized shipments. Complementing our core services are affiliated entities specializing in transport engineering solutions, global ocean transportation, and specialized transportation assets.

As an Operational Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics activities in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. You will be responsible for managing all operational activities and financial management of key accounts in the branch.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for all operational activities & financial management (Supplier Invoice bookings & Client billing) of 1-2 key accounts of branch.
  • Work closely with Branch Manager, Country Operations Manager & his assigned team and ensure operational protocols and procedures setup are diligently followed by the entire operations team by having regular weekly operational meetings to constantly monitor work performance of individual employees of operations teams (E.g., check of internal reports, client reports) and also involving sales and branch management for the meetings as and when required.
  • First point of contact for all operational activities' escalation from Operations Supervisor in branch.
  • First point of contact for all RFI with regards to operational activities including but not limited to duty exemption and refund process, customs activities, permits, and so on.
  • Ensure availability and participation in all client operational meetings as and when required and support sales, business development, and branch management meetings upon request.
  • Verification of RFQ responses from operations team for existing clients as per limits designed by company.
  • Ensure compliance of all operational activities in branch with QHSE directives and support QHSES initiatives.
  • Support branch management for matters related to insurance claims.
  • Support Country Operations Manager for monthly file closing / reporting.
  • Support finance and accounts team in matters of payment follow-up and cash flow management when necessary. Ensure all company policies, routines, and standards are followed.
  • Follow any lawful directions given by the management.

This role requires:

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 7 years' experience (KSA Experience preferred)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a proven ability to handle multiple, competing workloads with changing priorities to meet necessary deadlines.
  • Must be familiar with current software packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, software manuals.
  • Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate well with customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Client-driven and performance-driven.
  • Detail-oriented and works in an organized fashion.
  • Ability to handle projects individually and take ownership.
  • Team focused.
  • Comply with all safe work practices and procedures set in place by deugro.
  • Adhere to and enforce deugro QHSES Policy and Procedures.
  • Work with due care and consideration to safeguard own health and safety and the health and safety of others.
  • Report incidents/accidents/near misses.
  • Advanced knowledge of international logistics dynamics. Candidates with transferable iqama preferred.
