About the Role

The Specialist FM Design Review - Arch / Civil shall report directly to the FM Design Director. They should have an Architecture / Civil engineering background and experience to review designs from facility management (operability and maintainability) perspectives, covering all stages of all design packages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance of all designs to international and local regulations, codes, and standards such as IBC, NFPA.
  • Lead FM design reviews, implemented through execution and operation phases.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple, design-related tasks simultaneously.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build professional relationships with colleagues and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and set up goals and objectives for personnel development.
  • Ensure designs meet FM requirements for large and mixed-use developments.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 15 years of total experience.
  • 10+ years extensive experience in delivering multi-disciplinary projects (residential, commercial, industrial, sports, marine, etc.), at least 7 of which in a design management role focused on FM aspects.
  • Fully conversant with regulations, codes, and standards for large scale regional and urban developments with preferred knowledge of local codes.
  • Proven track record in leading FM design reviews, implemented through execution and operation phases.
  • In-depth understanding of FM requirements as they relate to design, with proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, design-related tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communicator (verbal and written) with a good command of English and ability to present confidently to small and large audiences.
  • Proven ability to build professional relationships with colleagues and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Fully computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office applications with good knowledge of Microsoft Project, Primavera P6; familiarity with CAFM, AutoCAD, and BIM are desirable.
  • Strong leadership ability, rational judgement, and reasoning skills, with proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • A team player, with team management capabilities to effectively manage and set up goals and objectives for personnel development.
  • BSc/MSc in Arch / Civil Engineering with relevant experience in Facility Management for large and mixed-use developments.
  • Should be Certified Facility Manager (CFM) from International Facility Management Association (IFMA).
