Job Summary

Wood Plc is seeking a highly experienced Senior/Lead Instrumentation Specialist to join our team in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. As a key member of our engineering and project management services, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instrumentation and control system design solutions for oil & gas upstream, downstream, refining, and petrochemical projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement field instrumentation and control system design strategies for complex oil & gas projects.
  2. Originate and revise engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with company procedures, standards, and checklists.
  3. Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  4. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure effective project planning, execution, and completion within allocated man-hours.
  5. Interface with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliverables.
  6. Conduct site visits to verify site conditions, markup drawings, and perform as-built activities.
  7. Manage deliverables submission, ensuring quality checks and proper record management.
  8. Prepare technical reports and presentations, showcasing expertise in instrumentation and control systems.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry standards, including Aramco, Sabic, and Royal Commission standards.
  10. Evaluate technical bids, review vendor documents, and manage subcontract scope.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in instrumentation, with at least 5 years at a senior level.
  • Offshore experience is mandatory, with a strong background in EPC/PMC projects.
  • Knowledge of Smart Plant Instrumentation and MS Access is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in developing FEEDs and Engineering Flow Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Extensive high-pressure gas and condensate processing experience.
  • Good understanding of upstream projects, preferably with experience in unconventional gas development.
  • Knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards is an advantage.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and able to work effectively within client project management teams.
