About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Resident Engineer to join our team at WSP Global Inc. in a key leadership position. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the management and administration of a contract, including supervision, coordination of construction, inspection, testing, and commissioning of a large infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively coordinate with the project team and clients to monitor progress and report on the construction program.
  • Develop and implement a construction management plan to ensure all contracts are administered to a common standard and practice.
  • Establish procedures for inspection approvals, testing, and commissioning in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Monitor the project schedule and progress against the EPC Contractor's construction and commissioning schedule.
  • Coordinate interfaces between the Plant and other parties or contractors providing interconnection and other facilities.
  • Supervise the project construction, commissioning, and testing activities to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Facilitate coordination in the construction of interface facilities, the Plant, and associated works.
  • Ensure construction and erection are performed in accordance with the Contract, design documents, applicable codes, and standards.
  • Verify, inspect, and audit HSE compliance and quality assurance as per the programme agreed between the Client and the Project Company.
  • Attend site work progress meetings with the Client and Project Company to discuss work progress and identify areas of concern.
  • Supervise and witness start-up tests, reliability runs, and performance tests, reviewing all documentation to certify successful testing.
  • Review testing and commissioning procedures, commenting and approving them in accordance with the Water Purchase Agreement.
  • Agree and implement procedures for checking and reporting material received at the SWRO Plant Site.
  • Review the EPC Contractor's plans for site management and monitor staffing for efficient resource use.
  • Review the EPC Contractor's QA/QC program for compliance with the EPC Contract and applicable codes and standards.
  • Develop and maintain a punch list of open items and expedite their completion and close-out by the EPC Contractor.
  • Responsible for handing the project over to the client and submitting a lesson-learned report regarding issues faced during the project.
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in a similar capacity.
  • Experience in leading supervision activities for a Supervision Consultancy or PMC.
