Roles and responsibilities

We are looking for a Travel Consultant with great enthusiasm for travelling. You will be responsible for promoting and booking travelling arrangements for clients (individuals or businesses). The goal is to enhance satisfaction and acquire an expanding and dedicated clientele.

Responsibilities

  • Research various destinations and means of travel regarding prices, customs, weather conditions, reviews etc.
  • Diagnose the clients' specifications and wishes and suggest suitable travel packages or services
  • Organize travels from beginning to end, through booking tickets and accommodation, securing rental transportation etc.
  • Supply travelers with pertinent information and useful travel/holiday material (guides, maps, event programs etc)
  • Collect deposits and balances
  • Use promotional techniques and prepare promotional materials to sell itinerary tour packages
  • Handle unforeseen problems and complaints and determine eligibility for money returns
  • Attend conferences to maintain familiarity with tourism trends
  • Create and update electronic records of clients
  • Maintain relationships with key persons
  • Keep financial statements and documents
  • Reach the revenue and profit targets

  • Client Consultation and Needs Assessment:

    • Meet with clients to understand their travel preferences, requirements, and budget.
    • Offer tailored travel advice, including destination recommendations, accommodations, transportation options, and activities.
    • Answer client questions regarding travel restrictions, visa requirements, and other regulations.

  • Trip Planning and Itinerary Design:

    • Design customized travel itineraries based on client preferences, ensuring the trip is well-organized and aligned with client expectations.
    • Book flights, accommodations, car rentals, and tours, ensuring all travel arrangements are confirmed and accurate.
    • Coordinate and confirm details with airlines, hotels, tour operators, and other travel service providers.

  • Booking and Reservation Management:

    • Make reservations for flights, hotels, transport, and excursions, ensuring optimal travel schedules and availability.
    • Assist clients with booking special requests, such as premium seating, private tours, or special accommodations.
    • Handle travel cancellations, changes, and rescheduling, ensuring minimal inconvenience to clients.
Desired candidate profile
  • Proven working experience as a travel consultant
  • Excellent knowledge of travelling software (computer reservations systems, GDS systems and e-travel)
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage
  • Exemplary sales skills and customer oriented approach
  • Well versed in various areas of travel (domestic/international, business/holidays, group/individual etc)
  • Ability to present, persuade and communicate effectively
  • Demonstrable ability to handle crises
  • Degree in Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, Business or relevant field
  • Candidates with personal travel experience will be preferred

  • Experience:

    • Previous experience in travel consulting, customer service, or a related field is highly beneficial.
    • Experience with travel booking platforms, global distribution systems (GDS), and travel management software (e.g., Sabre, Amadeus, or Galileo) is an advantage.

  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of travel destinations, airlines, hotels, and local attractions worldwide.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
    • Proficient in using computer systems and booking platforms to create and manage travel itineraries.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills, able to manage multiple bookings and client requests simultaneously.
